ALOHA OPEN
Hawaiian breezes will be blowing through the newly remodeled Winston Salem Athletic Club (formally Body Check) on June 20-22 when the Aloha Open returns for it's 8th year. This is the ultimate racquetball theme tournament with it's signature Hawaiian souvenir shirts, great hospitality all weekend, and the Aloha Open party with DJ Panama on Saturday night. This tournament attracts many of the best women Pro players in the country, and this year wil be no different. There is a 130 player limit for this event, and last year it was sold out a week in advance of the deadline, and over 30 players were turned away. We expect to sell out at least 2 weeks ahead of the deadline this year, so don't be left out of this great event. The entry form, tournament web site, and online entry are posted and can be accessed through the links above. There will be no exceptions to the player limit, so make sure your doubles partners enter before the cutoff. For more info on the event   read more...
TOUR FOR HOPE SERIES POINTS UPDATED
The Tour For Hope series points are updated through the NC Open tournament. The next event in the series is the Aloha Open. Remember that you have to play at least 2 events in the series to be eligible to win your division. To view the totals you can go to the Series Point Totals menu item above or you can   read more...
NC OPEN RESULTS AND PHOTOS
The results and photos from the NC Open Championships held at the Sportscenter Triad in High Point on April 18-20 are posted. There were just 88 entries in this event, but with 4 courts it was a full weekend of racquetball. The Sportscenter is a beautiful facility for an event with all the amenities. Saturday night had the players chowing down on some good ol' NC BBQ with all the fixens supplied by Carter Brothers in High Point. Newcomer to the NCRA racquetball scene, Dennis Myers, showed that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. Winning the Elite division, and pushing eventual Open division winner and current State Champion Brian Bottomley to an 11-10 tiebreaker showed that Dennis has what it takes to make his mark in the state. Dennis is the son of NC Hall of Famer, Janet Myers, who played on the women's Pro circuit for many years. Once again, Jeff West has taken some great photos at the event. To view the photos click on the PHOTO GALLERY menu item at the top of the page. To view the results from all the divisions   read more...
WOMEN'S DAY EVENT
The Tour For Hope Women's Only event on March 15 at the Winston Salem Athletic Club was a great success. 26 women showed up to play singles and doubles. Play was broken down to Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels, and all games were round robin format. In singles the winners were: Advanced, Heather Brady - Intermediate, Betsy Kraft - Beginners, Gina Motsinger. All the ladies had fun playing, and making new friends and contacts for future games. Wilson Racquetball supplied new gloves, balls, sweatbands, and keychains for everyone, and they also supplied many items for the raffle. Winner of a new Hope racquet was Joy Rudisill of Hickory. Everyone that bought a raffle ticket won something. All profits from the event were donated to the FRIENDS for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test charity. Mayflower Seafood of Burlington supplied a hearty lunch for the ladies with baked ziti, spagetti, boiled shrimp, salad, and garlic bread. All the division winners received a new Wilson Hope backpack. Photographer Jeff West was on hand to capture all the fun and action. To see the photos from the event, just click the Photo Gallery item on the menu bar or you can   read more...
THE SPORTS CENTER CLASSIC RESULTS
The Sports Center Classic held on Feb. 8-10 was a huge success with 132 players entered. The men's B division had 31 players, men's B/C doubles had 21 teams, and the C division had a full draw of 16. Those are some great numbers, and it made for some hard fought matches, with many going to tiebreakers. Everyone was well fed all weekend, with Sammio's Italian Restaurant serving up pasta on Friday night, and Carrabba's serving up Chicken Marsala on Saturday night. Pizza and subs rounded out the weekend, and I don't think anyone went away thirsty. This was the first in the Tour For Hope Series to benefit the charity, FRIENDS for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test. With the great support we had for our raffle, and with a donation of the profits from the event we were able to make a $1000 contribution. Thanks to Lynn Moffitt, Mike "Bush Hog" Bourgeois, Darlene Heyer, Craig DeMattia, Pete Beckwith, and all the staff and volunteers at The Sports Center that made this event possible. For the tournament results you can click the link under the menu item "Tournament Results" at the top of the page or you can just   read more...
TOUR FOR HOPE SERIES
In partnership with Wilson Racquetball, TMT events will be producing the "Tour For Hope" series this season. The purpose behind this series is to encourage more women to play the sport, and to raise awareness and money for a NC breast cancer charity, Friends For An Earlier Breast Cancer Test. A large portion of the profits from every event will go to the charity, and all the profits from the women's only one day event will be donated to the charity. You can print out the schedule for all the series events from the TMT Events menu item above, and you can get all the rest of the information on the series from the Tour For Hope menu item. The Wilson Hope ball will be used at all events and Wilson will provide additional prizes for participants.

CHARITY FOR TOUR NAMED
It's now official. Our NC charity for the Tour For Hope series is Friends For An Earlier Breast Cancer Test. We will make a donation from the profits of every Tour series event to this charity. In addition, our women's only event in March will donate 100% of the profits to Friends. Wilson racquetball has donated many items to be used for auction or raffle in the Tour events, and all the proceeds from those items will also be donated to Friends. I hope that some of you will also decide to make an individual donation to this wonderful charity. If you do, please let them know how you found out about them. Their logo on the top right of the page will take you to their site. Please visit it and learn just how Friends is working to make an impact on this life threatening disease that affects nearly every one in this country in one way or another. And help us to help them by participating in these events and being generous in your donations.

ANOTHER WEB SITE?
Why another web site for NC racquetball players, you ask? Well, we found that with the expansion of the number of events we are running now, it became a must have. Sponsors are an important part of events, and really make the difference in running a quality event versus just an event. And those sponsors want something for their contributions. That's why you see their decals on our court walls and their logos with links on this web site. It's important that we give them exposure and that you use their services. These are the people that are supporting our sport and we need to support them in return. And we're able to do things on this site that would not be possible on the NCRA site. We still support the NCRA, but really felt the need to expand, to better serve the players that attend our events, and also to support the sponsors that make them possible.

THE SHIRT DILEMMA
As most of you know, the big thing in shirts now are the Dri-Fits.  I love them , and that's all I play in now. From the surveys we taken, we know that you prefer them also. So why are we still giving cotton shirts at our events? There's a couple of reasons. The main one is related to sponsors again. They want to see their name on the back of the shirt. And we also like to create unique artwork for each of our events. The problem with Dri-Fits is that they cannot support a lot of artwork. It cancels out the effect of the wicking properties of the shirt, and just doesn't feel good wearing one with a large screened design on it. And then, there's just something about the feel of a nice cotton shirt that I think people will always like. I almost never wear a Dri-Fit when I'm not playing. I still like wearing my cotton shirts. I hope you do too.

SURVEYS
You see them all the time, but do they really matter? You bet they do. We make many decisions based on how the surveys are answered. It's important to us to know how you feel, so please continue to take a minute of your time when you stop by to fill them out. We want our events to be known as the best around and we need your input to do that.

keep em rolling......

ANOTHER TOUR FOR HOPE SURVEY Minimize
INSTEAD OF WINNING AN INDIVIDUAL PRIZE AS WINNER OF A DIVISION IN THE HOPE SERIES, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE YOUR NAME ENGRAVED ON A PERPETUAL PLAQUE WITH THE OTHER WINNERS, THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE DONATION FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES? THIS PLAQUE WOULD BE DISPLAYED THE NEXT YEAR AT ALL THE SERIES EVENTS, AND THEN PUT ON PERMANENT DISPLAY IN THE CHARITY'S MAIN OFFICE. THIS WOULD ALLOW A LARGER DONATION TO BE MADE TO THE CHARITY.
